Nesa posici\u00f3n consolidouse, e mesmo agradouse, ao publicarse \u201c<em>Livro das devoraci\u00f3ns<\/em>\u201d (1996), considerado un\u00e1nimemente pola cr\u00edtica como un aut\u00e9ntico acontecemento literario. Fiel a un ritmo lento de escrita e cautelosa na exposici\u00f3n p\u00fablica, posteriormente entregoulle aos lectores \u201c<em>Leopardo son<\/em>\u201d (2011). Pallar\u00e9s foi alumna de Ricardo Carvalho Calero e tam\u00e9n unha das m\u00e1is admiradas estudiosas da s\u00faa obra. Adoita dicir con frecuencia que o pa\u00eds e o nacionalismo llo descubriu Moncho Valcarce, o cura de S\u00e9samo.
