As s\u00faas orixes rem\u00f3ntanse \u00f3 seculo X en que se te\u00f1en as primeiras noticias da existencia de vida mon\u00e1stica neste lugar. A historia de Caaveiro venc\u00e9llase a S. Rosendo e pertenceu \u00e1 orde de S. Bieito e posteriormente foi mosteiro de coengos regulares de S.
