Doutor pola Universidade de Santiago de Compostela (USC). Profesor Titular de Historia Antiga no Departamento de Historia da USC e Investigador do Grupo S\u00edncrisis. Investigaci\u00f3ns en formas culturais da mesma universidade. A s\u00faa formaci\u00f3n como investigador tam\u00e9n se desenvolveu no \u201cCentre Louis Gernet\u201d de Par\u00eds, durante a s\u00faa etapa predoctoral, e no Laboratoire \u201cArch\u00e9ologie et Sciences de l\u2019 Antiquit\u00e9\u201d da Maison de l\u2019Arch\u00e9ologie et l\u2019\u00c9thnologie Ren\u00e9 Ginouv\u00e8s da Universit\u00e9 de Nanterre-Par\u00eds X (Francia) como investigador postdoutoral. A s\u00faa investigaci\u00f3n, caracterizada por levar a cabo unha aproximaci\u00f3n antropol\u00f3xica ao estudo das sociedades antigas e protohist\u00f3ricas, pl\u00e1smase en varias decenas de traballos, entre libros, cap\u00edtulos de libros e artigos, publicados tanto en Espa\u00f1a como no estranxeiro, e entre os que, pola s\u00faa relacion co tema da conferencia, podemos destacar o seus libros Os \u00e1rtabros.
